Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
4000 GOALS is a free browser game available at 4000goals.com.au, made by The Cast Patrol. We collect very little data, accounts are optional, and we do not sell your data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the game is played, including pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, and in-game interactions (for example games started, games finished, wildcards used and shares). This data is collected automatically when you use the site. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
Our games don’t show ads. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy first.
Playing as a Guest
If you play without an account, we do not collect your name, email or any personally identifiable information. Your game history and sound preference are saved in your own browser only. The one exception: after your first finished game, that game’s score and team (with no name or account) are sent once so we can show where it would rank on today’s leaderboard. We don’t keep it.
CAST Games Accounts (Optional)
You can create a free CAST Games account to back up your game history and see your stats across 4000 GOALS, 1000TRIES, 27-0 and other CAST Games. Accounts are optional and are for people aged 13 and over.
Sign-in. You sign in with Google or Apple. We never see or store your password.
What we store.
- Your email address and a unique account ID, received from your sign-in provider. Your email is held by our sign-in service and is not stored with your game data. It is only shared with our email provider if you opt in to emails (see Emails below). With Apple you can choose to hide your real email.
- Your date of birth, which you tell us. We use it to confirm you are 13 or over, and to keep betting advertising and partner offers away from anyone under 18. It is private to you and never shown publicly.
- Your email choice and when you made it. One opt-in covers CAST Games news and offers from our partners and sponsors (which can include betting partners). Partner offers are only ever sent to adults 18 and over, so under-18s who opt in get CAST Games news only.
- Your favourite NRL team (or no team), your country, and your state if you are in Australia. You give these when you sign up, and they place you on the club, country and state leaderboards.
- Your optional fan profile answers: gender, and whether you listen to The Cast Patrol podcast.
- Your game history and stats for each game you play while signed in (for example the mode, score, result and the players you picked). This includes games you played on the same device before signing in.
Where it is stored. Accounts use Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Game data is stored in Google’s Sydney, Australia region. Google processes this data on our behalf.
Who can see it. Only you, apart from the leaderboard details below. Our database rules only allow each account to read its own data. We never show your email publicly, and we do not sell or share your personal data.
Leaderboards. Every CAST Games account picks a username. It appears on the public CAST Games leaderboards next to your best scores and your favourite team's badge. Anyone viewing a leaderboard can tap your row to see the team behind that score: the players you picked, the result and how the game went (for example the luck of your draw), nothing else. Nothing else about you is shown next to your name: never your real name, email, age or location. Your favourite team, country and (in Australia) state also place you on club, country and state leaderboards, so other players can see which of those boards you appear on. Usernames are checked for offensive words, and we may remove any that are offensive or impersonate someone. Scores are checked by our server before they are ranked. You can hide yourself from every leaderboard, or change your username, in your CAST Profile at any time. Deleting your account removes you, and those teams, from every leaderboard.
Friends and challenges. If you add friends, they can see your username, team badge, ticks, your stats totals and most-picked players, your best leaderboard rankings and your last few games (with the teams you picked). They never see your email, date of birth or location. A challenge shares your result with the friend you send it to. Players can find you by searching your username, unless you hide yourself from the leaderboards. You can remove a friend at any time, and deleting your account removes you from every friends list.
Audience insights. We use combined, anonymous figures (for example the share of players who support each club, or come from each state) to understand our audience and to show sponsors who plays our games. These figures never identify you. Your favourite team, country, state and podcast answer are also sent to Google Analytics so we can report on them; your date of birth, gender, name and email are not. Your first name (from Google or Apple, or typed in by you) is kept by our sign-in service, shown only to you on your CAST Profile, and not stored with your game data.
Emails. We only email you if you tick the opt-in box. The same opt-in covers offers from our partners and sponsors, for adults 18 and over only, sent by us: we never pass your email to partners. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can switch emails off in your CAST Profile at any time. We send emails with Kit (kit.com), our email provider. If you opt in, we send Kit your email address, first name, favourite team, state, country and podcast answer, plus which of our games you play, so we can send you relevant emails. Kit stores this in the United States and handles it on our behalf only. We never send Kit your date of birth, gender or game history. If you switch emails off, we unsubscribe you in Kit straight away. If you delete your account we also unsubscribe you; email us if you want your record removed from Kit entirely.
Your choices. In your CAST Profile you can download a copy of your data, sign out, or delete your account. Deleting is immediate and permanent: your account, game history and stats are removed. You can also email us to ask for access, correction or deletion.
How long we keep it. Until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
CAST Pass Payments
If you buy CAST Pass, the payment is handled by Stripe (stripe.com), which receives your card details, your email address (for receipts) and your billing country under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number. We keep a small record with your account: whether you have a Pass, your plan, when it renews or ends, and the Stripe customer and subscription numbers that link it to your account. If you delete your account, we cancel the subscription and delete that record. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
Hosting
4000 GOALS is a static website. Standard technical information (IP addresses, browser info, request logs) may be processed by our hosting and CDN provider for security and performance purposes.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the latest update.
